With regard to my horses, Claire is my early warning system. As well as a valued member of my “Professional Equine Medical Cavalry” who treat established problems. The moment I feel a muscle tightness, Claire is called to pinpoint & relieve the problem area. This, together with monitoring & massaging the area myself at home after treatment, is a fantastic method of preventing big issues arising or diagnosing at the earliest point, a problem that needs veterinary treatment.

Following on from a traumatic incident whilst my Advanced horse was out at pasture & subsequent vet work. Followed by four months box rest. I was referred to Claire Galer ESMT & Equine Nutritionist to assist & guide in the rehabilitation program. From the first meeting & Claire’s thorough assessment of the horse, I was taken away by her professionalism, method of work & subsequent treatment & rehabilitation of this horse. She is clearly very well qualified, has an in-depth knowledge of equine anatomy, physiology, nutrition & rehabilitation. Claire has been treating my 7 year old mare “Izzy” for the last 6 months & previous to that 2 years ago. The recent treatments have been as a result of us having problems with Show Jumping. Having met with Claire & discussed Izzy, she established that she was very tight across her shoulders & back. Izzy as always accepted Claire’s treatments straight away & regularly relaxes so much so that she appears to fall asleep each session! Claire is fantastic at what she does & Izzy & I are now yet again, reaping the benefits. I would not hesitate in recommending Claire she is an excellent therapist, a sort hard to find.

Claire started treating Alfie this summer; he had problems with his shoulders & back, which had led to intermittent lameness & loss of muscle quality. Claire’s treatments have been vital in improving Alfie’s body condition. He is now a much more relaxed & supple horse. The intermittent lameness has gone, his muscle tone is improved. He can now work correctly & is building up good quality muscle. This in turn has helped his fitness & his results. Claire has exceptional knowledge, which she shares with her clients & I would act on her advice every time. She provides invaluable support to both horse & rider. A friend recommended Claire to me & although I was not aware of any real problems, I felt that as Hamish is easily stressed Claire might be able to relax him. After the first treatment I took him for a gentle walk & nearly asked Claire to return & undo what she had done!! Hamish felt so free, his stride length had increased & was enormous, he was so lose & supple I had a job to hold him together!! Hamish enjoys his treatments so much & since then he has come on leaps & bounds, literally!!!! I am now having Claire treat my back & am looking forward to the same fantastic results. After my horse slipped in the stable with a hind leg; he showed a great deal of pain & my vet diagnosed he had strained his Psoas group of muscles. The vet had recommended Claire in order to relax & treat the muscles & restore correct muscle function after a period of box rest. He proceeded to require intra-articular joint medication, through which Claire treated the area of concern as well as the whole body. He made an excellent recovery & soon returned to success on the Show Jumping circuit. Thank you Claire, for everything.

"Claire has treated Radar for the past year. Before we started the massages Radar's muscle over his hind quarters was very uneven on each side. With regular massages this muscle imbalance has been corrected. On the odd occasion when there is a slight uncharacteristic change in gait, the problem was swiftly corrected. His overall suppleness and well being have improved dramatically since starting the treatment, and the massages have been a vital factor in his improved competitive results. "I have owned Murphy, my TB x Welsh, all his life. He is now eight years old and have always had his back checked regularly by a chiropractor. Having recently returned with him from the South of France, it was time to get his career well under way. I had had a few saddle fitting issues and noticed that he was reluctant to offer any bend. I decided to give Claire a ring as my 'human chiropractor' had suggested a deep muscle massage for myself after a course of chiropractic treatments. After a course of 3 full massages, Murphy has been a different horse. He is willing to work and is gradually gaining the physique of an athelete.
My other horse, Nobby, who is now 18 and has been with me for 13 years has begun to feel the strains of a very competitive life. He is 15.1hh, of unknown breeding and a real workaholic! He competes in all disciplines, but recently the judges comments on his dressage scores prompted me to call Claire to give him some treatment. After all, I would like him to last another 13 years, and I would like to do some Veteran Horse classes with him this year. He has certainly benefitted from the treatment and his scores are creeping up again as he has become more supple.
Both the horses enjoy Claire's gentle and soothing treatment and calmness with them. I also appreciate the indepth explanations that she gives during the treatment. Thank you for your help!"
