Tim Galer MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon & Director Of PEC

Tim Galer - Veterinary Surgeon & Director of PECTim qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, London in 1986. After spending a year in Mixed Practice in Yorkshire, Tim moved to a Specialist Stud Practice where he spent the next four years. He left to establish Peasebrook Equine Clinic in 1991 and passed the Royal College Certificate in Equine Stud Medicine in 1992. Tim still does the lion’s share of the stud work in the Practice but his main interests now are lameness diagnosis and sports medicine. Tim is the main Practice Surgeon and is also one of the examiners for the Royal College Certificate in Equine Stud Medicine. He also acts as an expert witness for the Veterinary Defence Society.

Michelle Lawrence BVM&S MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Michelle LawrenceMichelle graduated from the Royal Dick Veterinary School in Edinburgh in 2003. After three years in mixed practice Michelle undertook an Equine Internship at Chiltern Equine Clinic in Buckinghamshire for one year before joining us at Peasebrook in 2007.  She is an accomplished horsewoman and has also spent some time ranching in the States. Despite a busy work & home life, Michelle enjoys riding & competing alongside other outdoor pursuits. Michelle is an extremely competent Vet and is very thorough in her approach to cases, enjoying all aspects of equine veterinary work but especially the challenges of equine anaesthesia. She attained for her GP Certificate in Equine Practice in 2008.

Consultant Surgeons: Professor J.Geoffrey Lane  FRCVS and Henry Tremaine MRCVS both from Bristol Veterinary School visit the Practice when required, to carry out some of the upper airway, dental and sinus surgery. Tim Philips FRCVS from the Liphook Equine Hospital visits us to perform some of the more complex Orthopaedic Surgery. Part – Time Locum Veterinary Surgeon Jacqui McCann MRCVS continues to work at Peasebrook. Jacqui is a devoted Equine Vet & is a very highly competent & valued member of the team.

Lisa Pearson Office Manager & Accounts Secretary

Lisa PearsonLisa is our super-efficient Office Manager and Accounts Secretary responsible for keeping the financial wheels turning. She is always available for any account queries although due to her outstanding accuracy these are few and far between! Lisa has been involved with horses since learning to ride at the age of 5 on the obligatory fat, elderly, Shetland Pony. She has competed mainly in Show Jumping, Working Hunter Classes & hunted regularly. These days she owns 2 European Warmbloods, one of which competes in Affiliated classes with Lisa’s daughter Lauren. She is fully in-tune with modern horse ownership, spending a great deal of time on the show jumping circuit with much devotion & success.

Equine Sports Therapist & Equine Nutritionist

Claire galerClaire manages & oversees the running of the rehabilitation centre, yard & nurses at the clinic. She also co-ordinates all of the PR & marketing activity for the practice. This all in addition to her role as a full time Equine Sports Therapist. In 2008 she was elected onto the committee of ESMA & Claire is very involved in the grass routes work within the organisation.

After a career in General Nursing in Cheltenham, Claire went on to study for a BSc(Hons) Degree in Equine Science, after graduation in 1997 gaining employment for Dodson & Horrell as an Equine Nutritionist. In 2001 she set up as an independent consultant, working for pharmaceutical companies, various feed firms & independently to competition yards & horse owners. In her capacity as a Nutritionist, Claire GalerClaire has advised on diets & rations to top Olympic Event Riders & Show Jumpers. In addition to this, Claire has worked closely with the British Paralympic Dressage Squad & been involved with long distance Endurance Riders.

After years of interest in the fields of sports science she went on to develop her skills in Equine Sports Massage, training under the great and highly respected Physiotherapist & Sports Therapist Mary Bromiley F.C.S.P., S.R.P., R.P.T. MBE. Claire gained a ITEC Diploma’s in Equine Sports Massage, Human Massage & Sports Massage. On completion of professional training, Claire Galer in competitionClaire built up a highly successful business, spent many years travelling with work, however now practices entirely from Peasebrook Equine Clinic & Rehab.

In addition to all Therapeutic “Hand’s on” work & management, Claire manages the marketing & PR For PEC, PER & EQ~Wise.

Anneliese Rennie BA (Hons) Reception & Practice Management

Anneliese RennieAnneliese studied at university & graduated with a BA (Hons) in Equine Business Management. Has her BHS Stages 1 & 2, & has gained a great deal of experience in various yards & equine rescue. She has been riding all her life, first owning her own horse at the age of 6yrs & currently is the proud owner of 4 horses. She is incredibly good when handling horses & over the years has become a very skilful horsewoman.

Anneliese is the calm Scottish voice who will answer the phone and deal with any enquiry in an efficient professional manner. She previously did a similar job for a busy mixed Practice in Herefordshire before coming to Peasebrook and so is very experienced in crisis management! Anneliese mans the office from 8am in the morning and she is the best person to contact regarding equine insurance claims.


Anna Buchanan BSc (Hons) Equine Studies Equine Nurse & Rehabilitation Staff

Anna BuchananAnna has been involved with horses all her life & is an exceptionally experienced Equine Nurse. Having gained a BSc(Hons) Degree in Equine Studies from The Royal Agricultural College, Anna went on to work as Yard Manager for The London Equestrian Centre. She is a fully qualified BHS instructor with BHS Stages 1 – 4, PTT & full AI & gains much enjoyment out of teaching. Anna then went on to spend 5x years working for Scott-Dunns Equine Clinic, as an Equine Nurse & gained plentiful surgical nursing experience. This also gave her the opportunity to be involved with the veterinary care of horses from the Royal Household, this Anna found to be a great honour & pleasure. Anna is a great asset to the team here at Peasebrook & brings with her a wealth of experience & expertise.

Having just returned from 4 years working in America, where she undertook the position of Equine Director of Triple C Camp & Rocky Hill Stables, Anna is now enjoying becoming established at Peasebrook & working within a busy Equine Surgical practice again. Anna is a great horsewoman, with exceptional standards & is always smiling!

Hannah Complin BSc(Hons) Equine Science Equine Nurse & Rehabilitation Staff

Hannah ComplinHannah has always had an interest in horses & has worked with them for many years. She has experience in Racing, Polo, Showing, Dressage & Eventing as well as owning her own horses that she competes in various disciplines. Hannah worked within the National Hunt world in the UK & then for 9 months in Australia with Racehorses prior to studying for her BSc (Hons) Degree in Equine Science. On graduation from University, Hannah was offered the opportunity to work for the Royal Household of The prince of Wales caring for their Polo ponies. Hannah has also travelled through South Africa, working as a Safari guide. Followed by working in Argentina & Brazil with Polo. Hannah later then went on to specialise in Veterinary Nursing working within a mixed animal veterinary practice.

Hannah is an outstanding horsewoman, this combined with her veterinary nursing skills makes Hannah an invaluable member of our team. Like Anna, Hannah is a very happy & efficient member of the practice. In addition to her academic achievements, Hannah is currently studying Equine Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University alongside her career here at Peasebrook & we look forward to her graduation & application of her therapeutic skills within our Rehabilitation programs.
