Claire Galer - Profile

Claire’s deep rooted passion for equestrianism started at an early age, as an active member of the Ledbury Hunt Pony Club. Her experience and passion led her to compete at a high standard in Show Jumping, Eventing & Dressage. This has given her a wide breath of knowledge within these competitive fields. 1997 saw Claire graduate with a BSc(Hons) Degree in Equine Science from the University of West of England. From this she went on to work for a national feed company, specializing in Nutrition. Traveling the country conducting yard visits, ration analysis, giving talks & seminars to horse owners, competitors, farriers, veterinary surgeons & universities. In February 2001 she set up as an independent consultant, working for pharmaceutical companies, various feed firms & independently to competition yards & horse owners.

In her capacity as a Nutritionist, Claire has advised on diets & rations to top Olympic Event Riders & Show Jumpers. In addition to this, Claire has worked closely with the British Paralympic Dressage Squad & been involved with long distance Endurance Riders. After 10 years of interest in the fields of sports science Claire went on to develop her skills in Equine Sports Massage, training under the great and highly respected Physiotherapist & Sports Therapist Mary Bromiley F.C.S.P., S.R.P., R.P.T. (USA). Gaining an ITEC Diploma in Equine Sports Massage and becoming a member of the Equine Sports Massage Association (ESMA).

In addition to lecturing for Mary Bromiley, Claire also lecture's to equine and agricultural students at various colleges & universities across the country in Equine Nutrition & Equine Sports Therapy. She also runs weekend training courses for horse owners & CPD sessions to other equine professionals and currently holds the positions below:

Human Therapist Profile & Background

Claire has a wide breath of experience in the fields of healthcare and medicine. In 1991 undertaking Registered General Nurse training at Cheltenham General Hospital, before going on to study for an Honors Degree in Equine Science 1994 - 1997.

After 10 years of experience and interest in the fields of Holistic Therapy and Sports Science, Claire went on to develop her skills in a “hands on capacity”. Learning the art of Manipulative Therapy. In 2005 she enrolled as a student of the Cotswold Academy of Health and Beauty and studied for an ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage. This same year Claire was given the opportunity and great honor to train under the tuition and guidance of the highly respected and renowned Physiotherapist and Sports Therapist, Mary Bromiley F.C.S.P., S.R.P., R.P.T. gaining an ITEC Diploma in Equine Sports Massage and developing her skills in manual therapy, training and fitness for riders.
